No handle, no hassle: Inta sets the new standard in ball valve design with K Type
Intatec’s K Type Ball Valve
Intatec, one of the UK’s leading heating and plumbing product manufacturers, has launched the K Type Ball Valve, an installer-focused evolution of the traditional valve designed for all insulated pipework.
K Type replaces the exposed lever found on standard setups with a fixed seal, operated using an Inta adjustment key or a standard 6mm Allen key, enabling the ball valve to be fully insulated without affecting its operation. To operate the valve, users just remove the protective cap, use the key (sold separately) to open or close the valve, and replace the cap.
By removing the external lever, Intatec has made it easier than ever to fully insulate around the valve body. Installers simply leave the coloured cap accessible through the insulation, protecting the system while retaining full functionality. With WRAS approval, the K Type sets a new standard in ball valve design.
Darran Bougourd, Managing Director at Intatec, said: “The K Type Ball Valve has been designed with installers in mind. We’ve listened to feedback about traditional lever ball valves getting in the way of insulation and servicing. With the K Type, everything an installer needs for heat pump installations is now available from Inta – helping projects run efficiently and safely."
K Type features a solid brass construction, with ISO threads, a PN25 pressure rating, and a working temperature range from -10°C to 90°C – more than capable of handling the demands of modern heating systems. A dust cover is also supplied to keep the adjuster protected when not in use.
This design makes the K Type anti-vandal, anti-tamper, and child-proof – ideal for use across estates, public buildings, and other settings where security and safety are paramount. Available in compression sizes from 15mm to 35mm, with red and blue caps supplied as standard, the K Type is an easy-to-insulate solution.
Solidifying Intatec’s reputation for being innovative and forward-thinking, this K Type Ball Valve shows feedback has been taken onboard, prioritising the needs of the installer. It joins a complete family of products engineered to solve real-world challenges.
Installers can get a first hands-on look at the K Type Ball Valve at the Installer Show, taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 24–26 June 2025, on the Inta stand 5B60.
